We work with further education colleges to make them an integral part of the local business community, driving enterprise and innovation through business creation, business support and by preparing people for work in an innovative and entrepreneurial economy. Innovation Lab will: - Make your college a place where people can develop their ideas, from concept to the market as profitable, high added value products and services
- Make your college a place which equips individuals with the attitudes and skills to deal with and benefit from the uncertainties presented by the innovative and entrepreneurial economy of today.
- Provide innovation programs for local businesses embedding innovation in their operations enabling them to remain at the forefront of their markets
- Work with the public sector in the introduction of enterprise and innovation into their systems and workforce.
We do this by:
- Supporting colleges in the development of a strategic plan for enterprise, allied to their own overall objectives
- Support managers in developing college based innovative enterprises which provide income generating activities for the college and high quality work experience opportunities for learners
- Developing Enterprise Champions amongst College staff to seed good practice and new ideas throughout the college
- Training and development of staff to deliver pedagogically innovative enterprise learning programs at all levels to any learner who wants it
- Providing training and coaching for individuals who are supporting learners in launching their own businesses.
- Supporting colleges in seeking new funding for innovation programs in established organizations and for stimulating entrepreneurial start up initiatives.
